Artist Biography

  

At only 23 years old, UK Alternative Pop-Rock artist Alex James Brierley has been a regular on BBC introducing (BBC Lancashire, Sean McGinty) and (BBC Merseyside, Dave Monks) for over 5 years. Alex has appeared on ITV news with the first track on his EP, ‘Home Sweet Home’ with the track ‘Place of Nowhere’ – a charity single which raised funds for the refugee crisis in 2015. In 2016, Alex supported 'Scouting for Girls' and 'Reverend and the Makers' at sold-out concerts at the Bolton Wanderers Stadium. Alex went on to support the famous Britpop band, 'Space' on parts of their UK Tour in 2017 and appeared live at the iconic Cavern Club in Liverpool on a BBC introducing special showcase (April 2018).


Alex James Brierley worked with legendary Brit and Grammy award-winning producer, Steve Levine in his new Liverpool studio (2018) recording & producing his debut EP 'Listen' which received widespread acclaim on Radio and in the Music industry. The title track ‘Listen’ was awarded the top prize at the Amazing Accrington Music Festival in July 2018.  

 

COVID-19 hasn't been a barrier as in May 2020, Alex James Brierley took part in the virtual Salford Music Festival featuring well-established legends such as Peter Hook, Graham Nash, Sister Sledge, and Tony Christie, where he performed a new exclusive track 'Caught In The Waves'. This live stream can be re-watched on his YouTube Channel or from his website. Shortly after, on the 9th of July 2020, he was invited along to a BBC Wales radio interview and showcase on the legendary Janice Long’s show. This was in collaboration with Manchester singer-songwriter, Bianca Alana who, since 2018 has been regularly working alongside Alex James Brierley in the recording studio, where he has written, performed, and produced the music for her debut EP and latest single releases. The singles have already received international attention and radio airplay worldwide. 


Bianca and Alex were also invited to perform at a Pop-Up Cinema event for the Vigil of Remembrance - World Suicide Prevention Day which took place in Manchester, the UK where live recorded performances were showcased. Shortly after, they curated and featured in a high-quality live stream gig in December 2020 which received excellent feedback. This can be re-watched on both Bianca & Alex’s YouTube channels. 


Alex James Brierley’s latest EP - Home Sweet home, is a selection of unreleased songs from the last few years - newly performed, recorded, and produced by Alex in the Intense Pulse studio, with one of the tracks, "Lifetime Away - described as "A simply stunning piece of music". Alex is planning his next release in 2021, an EP named ‘Riding Horses Over Yellow Grass’ which was recorded at multi-Grammy award-winning studios (Parr Street Studio, Liverpool).
